some nasty blogs.....

this blog thing is new to me. so for the last couple of days i've been surfing blogs. i didn't realize there were so many out there. has long has this been going on behind my back?
and there are some nasty ones out there. for one i didn't realize how many people swear. once i saw that, i thought, for fun, i would try to get through my blogs without swearing - hey, it ain't easy.
the other thing is that some people choose the worst colours and layouts for these things. i've seen the type size so small, i left immediately. these blogs have to be reasonably easy to read. for example, black type on a red background is bad; and vice versa i would think. have you tried viewing your own blog. see if you like it.
basically black type of a white background is easiest on the eyes. i took journalism in college, and we learned about what would turn a reader off - and those things i mentioned were a couple of them.
easy on the eyes is a biggie. another turn off is a lot of writing (say...no pics). you see a huge chunk of writing (if small, bad), you run. the longer a blog is (of just writing), the quicker you may lose the reader.

also, i don't worry about proper punctuation on the 'net, as you may have noticed. i only worry about that on resumes.
