the boys are back in town.....

'ere's a decent shot of thin lizzy in concert, toronto, ontario, aug. '04. thing is, there was only one original band member left. remember them? they did 'the boys are back in town' and 'jailbreak'. that's all i know.

but the blonde guy in the pic was in the band in their later years, but became more famous for being on whitesnake's 'slide it in' album. that's john sykes, second from left. remember his long golden locks and awesome guitar work in those whitesnake videos?

was still kinda cool. deep purple headlined.

i almost got john sykes' autograph.

the sound board was in the middle of the audience, just down from where i was sitting. and sykes was there because he wanted to come out and listen to joe satriani play. but it was roped off, and there were guards.

the first time and the second time i tried to get close, a guard told me to go back to my seat. the third time, the guard was gone! yeah! i didn't go over the ropes, but i pressed close, and tried to get his attention. he was like five feet from me! but the music was so loud he didn't hear me, then i got caught again. back to my seat.
