the pots and pans test....

have you ever done this? i sometimes ask my wife, whilst i am doing dishes (correct, we have no dish washing machine), 'honey, what did we make in this one?' once i know what was cooked in a certain pot or pan, then i know how much work i need to invest to clean it.
if we boiled corn in a pot, that's way less than half a minute of elbow grease. if it were spaghetti sauce, well that's a good....well.......a little more.
if you boiled corn in a pot, why invest more time in cleaning it than necessary? you are probably just wearing the steel off or something.
